Sometimes the planets align in just a way that your time machine finally works, you get to check off a bucketlist item for a friend, and end up crying with a hundred of your closest friends on Halloween Weekend. Such is the life of a Ludo Fan.

Earlier in the summer, I had the lovely opportunity to collaborate with local Kansas City cosplayer, May, to capture her look for Black Fae Day (celebrated this year on May 8).

At this point, it’s safe to assume everyone picked up at least one “quarantine hobby” during 2020, right? Could have been baking bread, blowing through an obscene number of books or tv shows, or mastering the art of finishing a bottle of wine in one night (these may or may not have been among the list of things I picked up during COVID-19)…

But regardless of the barely controlled mess that is my #quickburn, #hustle workflow, I put out A LOT of work for my team this week. So I’m just going to take a minute to give myself a pat on the back for that.

While the bulk of my day job is spent doing in-house branded items, occasionally I get a fun little side project handed down that allows for more creative freedom.

“You have brains in your head. You have feet in your shoes. You can steer yourself any direction you choose.” Words by none other than the great Dr. Seuss! 2020 is feeling like the year to take those words to heart.

Among many design-related practices and hobbies, I also enjoy the occasional, relaxing non-design project. Spoiler: My favorite winter activity is cozying up and knitting!
